If you are looking to strengthen your abdomen, increase your flexibility as well as maintain good posture, then STOTT Pilates is for you.
STOTT PILATES is a contemporary approach to the original exercise method pioneered by the late Joseph Pilates.
It consists of moving through a slow, sustained series of exercises using abdominal control and proper breathing. The quality of each posture is more important than the number of repetitions or how energetically you can move.

After realizing the benefits of the concepts of the original Pilates method, and in collaboration with a team of physical therapists, physiotherapists, sports medicine and exercise professionals, Lindsay and Moira Merrithew dissected and re-connected this unique form of exercise into a comprehensive, systematic, contemporary approach to the original teachings.
STOTT PILATES exercises are designed to restore the natural curves of the spine and rebalance the muscles around the joints. This involves placing more emphasis on pelvic and scapular stabilization, and integration of all the parts of the body into one. As well, preparatory exercises and modifications allow the technique to be appropriate for many different body types and abilities, making it applicable to sport-specific training and everyday life.

Types of Pilates
The two basic forms of Pilates are:

Mat-based Pilates – this is a series of exercises performed on the floor using gravity and your own body weight to provide resistance. The main aim is to condition the deeper, supporting muscles of your body to improve posture, balance, and coordination

Equipment-based Pilates – this includes specific equipment that works against spring-loaded resistance, including the ‘Reformer’, which is a moveable carriage that you push and pull along its tracks. Some forms of Pilates include weights (such as dumbbells) and other types of small equipment that offer resistance to the muscles.

Massage treatment types:
Swedish massage focuses on improving circulation of blood and lymph and relaxing superficial muscles. The five strokes are effleurage (sliding or gliding), petrissage (kneading), tapotement (rhythmic tapping), friction (cross fibre or with fibres) and vibration /shaking which reduces pain, joint stiffness and effectively alleviating low back pain.
Deep Tissue massage therapy is similar to Swedish massage (relaxing massage), but the deeper pressure is beneficial in releasing chronic muscle tension. The focus is on the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons and fascia (the protective layer surrounding muscles, bones and joints). Muscle energy techniques and stretches are included.
Sports massage is used to help prevent injuries, to prepare the body for athletic activity and maintain it in optimal condition, and to help athletes recover from workouts and injuries. Sports massage has three basic forms: pre-event massage, post-event massage, and maintenance massage.
Sports Therapy is an aspect of health that is specifically concerns with the prevention of injury and rehabilitation of the patient back to optimum levels of functional, occupational and sports specific fitness, regardless of age and ability.
Stretch Sessions: One-on-one assisted stretching promotes relaxation, decreases muscle tension, increases flexibility, increases range of motion, improves posture, and enhances recovery.
TheraGun, is a device that's used for muscle therapy treatment to increase blood flow, decrease lactic acid and interrupts the pain cycle.
