“I met Chiraz at the end of 2007 when I joined Gymbox. After having a baby, not doing any exercise for about three years and gaining a lot of “baby” fat that stayed and turned into an extra two dress sizes, I decided it was time to start exercising again. At that time I had never worked out with a personal trainer and was not sure how effective it was going to be. But I was so lost on the gym floor that is why I decided to do something different this time.
I met Chiraz in a spinner class and instantly liked her energising personality and admired her physique. I thought to myself this is how I want to look and decided to use her as my personal trainer. As soon as we started training Chiraz gave me nutritional advice and put me on a diet which was a nice surprise as I didn’t expect her do that as well as train me. The diet was realistic and wasn’t too hard to stick to and Chiraz did make sure that I was following it.
A couple of months into my new training with Chiraz I felt the effects of her programme, and the weight just started to “fall” off. Some people might think that personal training is extravagant but to me it felt like money well spent: I could see the results and they were there to stay. I am 100% certain that if I didn’t train with Chiraz I would not have achieved my goals and lost all my “baby” weight.
Once I went back to my original pre-baby weight I felt awesome and I found that all my clothes were hanging on me so I was faced with a need to go shopping. A few years ago it would not have been a problem but after being at home for a long period of time and concentrating on raising my daughter, I found shopping for clothes a little bit daunting. I felt completely out of touch with fashion and current trends. Once again Chiraz came to the rescue. When I shared my “problem” with her she said that she could take me shopping and since she knew my body, style and personality really well at that point she was able to pick some lovely outfits for me, which I would had never chosen on my own.
I got a lot of compliments at work and from my friends and I was very proud to show off my “new” body in nicely fitted clothes. Chiraz even helped me find a beautician to thread my eyebrows, as according to Chiraz, they were a “mess”. She really was like a “one-stop” shop for all my girly needs.
Now I still work out with her, my body completely changed, I look and feel great. I was very excited with having a new “body” and my friends were very impressed with my progress and I could not stop talking about Chiraz. As a result of that two of my very good friends are training with her now and finally achieving the results that they have wanted for a long time. I knew I was on to a personal training “gem” and felt like “sharing” my discovery with people I cared about.
I think the main reason why Chiraz gets people to show the results is because she really cares about her clients and also she is very passionate about what she does. Having said this she does have her little faults like we all do. I think the main thing would be that at times she can be very blunt and straight forward; but its okay, the big picture is that she cares and she loves her clients and we love her too for what she has done for us.”

So when I decided give personal training a try, it felt natural that I should approach Chiraz to train with her on a one-to-one basis. “I decided to train with Chiraz after being really impressed by the boundless positive energy I saw as she worked with people in the gym. And I can’t deny, she looks so good I thought that had to be the best testament to her training philosophy. I had been a member of various gyms for the past 10 years but as I hit 35, I realised that a desk job and London life was now taking its toll on my body. I did a marathon last year but managed to put on weight during the training. Now I had stopped, it was getting harder to tone up, and every glass of wine or dinner out seemed to be going straight onto my scales.

“I have strugged with my weight for over ten years. At my heaviest I was 89kg (14st) and now I am about 76kg (12st). I started at my gym going to Chiraz’s cardio classes (Jump&Jam) when I was a student and then she suggesting going to the weights classes (Look better naked) in order to increase my mwtabolism.
To be honest I was pretty rubbish at the weights to begin and Chiraz encouraged me to do some personal training and offered me a very reasonable package. She has also helped with nutrition plan, which is not straightforward because I am and have always been vegetarian. I am now much stronger and leaner and I’m sure that I would not have achieved with without working with Chiraz. She also helps out with injury rehabilitation when I have injured my back.”

“I started training with Chiraz a few months into my gym membership after signing up for a long distance cycling event. I could ride a bike and used it to commute into work, but I needed to develop my endurance and strength to cycle 100 miles a day for 3.5 days in order to get from London to Paris.
This is where Chiraz came in. Not only did we train for the specific sporting event, but it also improved my all round fitness and endurance levels. After only a few short weeks, I began to notice a change in my body shape, and my fitness levels. I was now not the girl struggling at the back of a class.
Following my cycling event, I have continued to train with Chiraz and since then have completed a half marathon, which Chiraz and I ran together, as well as a full marathon. I am now in training for a Triathlon.
In conjunction with the training, Chiraz has also educated me on nutrition. Diet has been one of my major obstacles as I am a total foodie, but Chiraz has devised eating plans both for intense training periods, and for sporting events as well as general day-to-day guides. Chiraz has taught me to eat cleverly without forgoing anything I love.”

As an Italian restaurant owner, it wasn’t easy to maintain a good diet. I worked long hours and my last meal was usually pasta and some wine to unwind from my 14 hour day. I knew Chiraz from her visits to my restaurant, and since I knew that she was a personal trainer I became more curious about starting training to lose my belly. I joined Gymbox Covent Garden and I started training with Chiraz twice a week on my strength training. She also advised me to do my own cardio, walking uphill on a treadmill, on low intensity for 45/60 minutes 3 x times a week. This had to be done as soon as I woke up, within the hour on empty stomach followed with a big healthy breakfast like eggs and porridge.
The first two weeks I followed the instructions and did my uphill walk on the treadmill using the CPR program setting and heart rate monitor. Shockingly the speed level wouldn't go more than 3 (which is super slow) and 2 % gradient, being on my 90% of maximum heart rate. It proved how unfit I was and that it was time to start looking after my health.
Only after two months, I lost 6kg and my belly went done, but more importantly, I struggled less with my day and had the most amazing energy at work. Saying that - my flexibility, mobility, and sleeping pattern also improved. It is easy to find excuses not looking after yourself blaming it on your work and lifestyle. I now realized with preprofessional help anything is possible!
My friends & employees (who are mainly Italians) still make jokes about me how I stopped eating Pasta & Pizza at night and replace it with Salmon and broccoli, which by the way is one of my favorite dishes out of many that Chiraz has recommended.

1 year transformation (Pilates & Posture Alignment)
“I had always gone to the gym, and thought I knew it all: machines force you into correct technique, right? – Wrong! Chriaz approached me after noticing my bad technique and poor posture. I was cynical at first, but she explained why my posture was bad (I now understand Kyphosis and Scoliosis – a bent spine forwards/sideways).
She also gave me the means to fix it – I started a weight training programme she designed especially for me, and two months later I could see the improvement when looking in the mirror – my muscular imbalances had been ironed out. My cynicism had melted away too. What I like most is that she isn’t there to count reps for you and push you hard (although she is a hard woman) – she taught me perfect technique and now I really feel it when doing the exercises.
She also gave me one-to-one Pilates which not only helped with the posture, but greatly improved my flexibility – before starting I had to crouch down to tie their shoe laces; now I’m more flexible than most of the girls! It’s evident that the Chiraz effect works – I’ve ended up a lot stronger (and slightly taller!)”

“I was looking to bulk up and add definition which I find very hard to do due to a high metabolism and being a keen runner. I know I needed a trainer to help with the nutritional side of things as much as the resistance training. As I’m investing a lot of time and money into my training I wanted a trainer who is prepared to take pride in his/her work and constantly rethink the training in order to achieve the desired results.
Chiraz has offered nutritional advice and diet plans throughout the months I spent training with her, and she is often re-evaluating/tweaking this guidance in order to achieve the desired goals. For the resistance training she is always making sure that my technique is correct and pushing me far beyond what I would attempt and achieve on my own.
A word of warning – Chiraz will get upset if nutritional advice is not followed and effort not applied during training. This can be upsetting at the time, but shows that she cares about the training given, and has helped me to get the best results. Muscle mass and definition has been added whilst training with Chiraz. There is more work to be done as I have not got to where I want to be yet, but I am confident this can be achieved through more training with Chiraz.
If you want someone who is going to re-evaluate training methods/nutritional advice and keep pushing you then Chiraz is a good choice. If you want a trainer who will go through the motions and not be concerned about technique and nutrition (but provide a more relaxed training programme) then choose someone else.

1. Why I decided to train with a Personal Trainer?
"I have been chubby my whole life and have tried various diets and weight-loss techniques. I first joined a gym when I was 15 but was unable to discipline my gym routine enough to lose weight. I’d also tried all the exercise classes under the sun but again, lost patience by not seeing results quickly enough and eventually lost motivation. My final attempt at realising my dream of my ideal figure was to see a personal trainer. I reached a point where, in my late 20s, I wanted to work on my diet and body, not only for appearances sake but also for health reasons. To allow me to do this, I realised I needed a source of constant motivation, a challenging and varied exercise regime and someone who understood my body type and the vision of where I wanted to get to."

Why I chose Chiraz as a Personal Trainer?
"I chose Chiraz because I had seen her on the gym floor and noticed the attention she pays to her clients. I had also attended a couple of her classes which I found had a really lively and fun vibe. In her classes she explained the purpose of each key exercise, allowing all the participants to understand what area they were working. Also Chiraz looked great and had the figure I aspired to – not overly muscly but slim, toned and strong. It was important to me to train with a female – for me, exercising and trying to target particular areas of body fat is a fairly intimate thing and I knew I needed to feel comfortable if my latest attempt to lose weight was to be a success!"
3. Why I have continued to see a Personal Trainer and stayed with Chiraz?
"Chiraz trained me after first fully assessing my strength and body type. She identified that I had little meaningful experience of exercise and weight training, so started with a full-body programme to increase my fitness. This soon progressed to a more targeted programme of toning and strengthening specific body parts, largely using weights. This programme has meant that my workouts are diverse – not only do I train all body parts, I do so using different methods – from strength training, to boxing, to cardio machines and aerobic exercises. This diversity has meant that I don’t lose interest in my workouts as no two are ever quite the same.
Training with Chiraz has been an educational experience as she has made me understand my own body. I can now name muscle groups that I previously didn’t know existed! Also I’m able to adapt my workout as I feel confident that my technique and posture is correct – a vital skill one needs to avoid injury on the gym floor. Training with Chiraz has allowed me to try out exercise techniques that I have never attempted before and wouldn’t have had the confidence to without a personal trainer.
I now feel comfortable and confident working out on any machine on the gym floor as each machine can be used by everyone, irrespective of your body type or skill level. As long as you know what you are doing, use the correct technique and the most appropriate level of weights/ resistance, the gym floor is your oyster!
One of the best things about training with Chiraz is that her services don’t end on the gym floor. To attain one’s ideal body, training in the gym is not enough - a healthy diet is also required. Chiraz has monitored my diet closely and gradually flexed it to make it healthier and results more focused. Again, this has been an educational process; I now understand the balance of food I need daily, what nutrients I need before and after a workout. Her diet is balanced and consists of health, natural eating, not starvation or artificial products. I have grown to enjoy food and think carefully about what I put into my body, to ensure it compliments and enhances my physical training regime."
4. The down-sides
"I would be lying if I said training with a personal trainer is easy. It’s bloody difficult! Chiraz pushes my body to its limits. After our workouts I’m physically exhausted and sweating from every pore but on the plus side, I know I have had a thorough work-out. I’m in agony the next couple of days, although oddly, I have become accustomed to the muscle aches and they are my proof that I have had an effective and productive workout.
Chiraz doesn’t have any patience for time-wasters. She is good fun and lively but on the gym floor, she is serious and expects you to work for the full 60 minutes you’re with her. The training hour is not the time to chat or chill, it’s the time to train hard, with focus and strength. Chiraz has a strong sense of responsibility when it comes to her training which means she takes it personally if I don’t put 100% effort into training, or if I ignore her nutritional advice. The plus side of this is that she sees it as her own success when results are delivered; she is the first to notice and celebrate any muscle definition or weight loss. There have been times when I haven’t given 100%, or I haven’t wanted to train, or I haven’t wanted to stick to her nutritional advice – the fact that Chiraz takes all these things seriously means I think twice and stop myself from doing anything that will counter-act the effects of my training.”

“I started training with Chiraz after I saw the results of her work with my friend who lost over 2 stone during the year. From the very beginning I was impressed with her in-depth knowledge and comprehensive tailored approach. First Chiraz tried to understand my habits and lifestyle, and then she recommended a diet plan and two weight-lifting training sessions per week.
Her program comprises a rigorous exercise and a super healthy balanced diet. I have discovered so many new dishes that are delightful and easy to cook. The good news is that I never feel hungry because I eat small meals every three to four hours which keep my blood sugar levels stable. Initially I was sceptical about the protein shakes but now I start my day with a berry smoothie and 25grams of protein which is my favourite meal of the day.
Chiraz is always pushing me to do more (more weight or more repetitions) which is a great incentive to improve and shed extra pounds. No pain no gain! More importantly it’s a mindful workout with a strong focus on your body parts and I love every part of it. Also I love the variety of the exercises we do – it’s different and it’s fun.
I always share my ups and downs with Chiraz because she inspires and motivates me. Ultimately, it’s all about working together to achieve a goal. Chiraz has an amazing passion and determination to help you succeed. After 20 sessions I have lost two sizes and I am thrilled to be a size 10. I am very excited about getting a new wardrobe after I get to size 8. For me my training with Chiraz was been a life changing experience and I enjoy my new body and my new lifestyle.
